EDI Training in Northern Ireland

We provide EDI training and consultancy for organisations in Northern Ireland, delivered online or in person in Belfast and across the region, and adapted to Northern Ireland's distinct equality legislation.

Equality law in Northern Ireland

Every course we deliver in Northern Ireland reflects the duties and context that apply there, so your people learn what's relevant to them.

  • The Equality Act 2010 does not generally apply in Northern Ireland. Equality and anti-discrimination law is set out in separate Northern Ireland legislation.
  • Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 requires designated public authorities to have due regard to the need to promote equality of opportunity across nine categories, and regard to promoting good relations.
  • Public authorities set out their arrangements in equality schemes approved by the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland, including screening policies and carrying out equality impact assessments.
  • Fair employment law addresses religious belief and political opinion in the workplace, including monitoring duties for many employers.
  • We adapt our courses so the legal content reflects Northern Ireland, while the practical skills, such as inclusive leadership and respectful communication, apply everywhere.
