Why Equality Impact Assessments training matters in Wales

Listed public bodies in Wales have specific equality duties, including assessing the likely impact of their policies and practices on people with protected characteristics. The Socio-economic Duty, in force in Wales since 2021, adds a requirement to consider how strategic decisions can reduce inequalities of outcome caused by socio-economic disadvantage. Good assessments protect people, improve decisions and reduce the risk of challenge.

  • Covers the Welsh specific equality duties
  • Includes the Socio-economic Duty
  • Makes assessments genuinely useful, not a tick-box

Who it's for

Policy officers, service managers, project leads and decision-makers in public bodies. It's suitable for local authorities, NHS Wales organisations, schools, colleges, universities, housing associations, charities and private-sector employers.

How it's delivered

Sessions are interactive and discussion-based, using realistic workplace scenarios rather than lectures. We create a respectful space where people can ask questions honestly. For in-house groups, we adapt examples, length and emphasis to reflect your sector, policies and priorities.
