Microaggressions
Understanding the everyday comments, behaviours and assumptions that can unintentionally exclude others.
View Course: MicroaggressionsExploring cultural identity, stereotypes and assumptions, and how to practise cultural inclusion at work.
An open, thoughtful session on race, ethnicity, culture and identity. Participants examine how stereotypes form, how assumptions show up in workplace interactions, and how to create environments where different backgrounds are understood and valued.
Wales is increasingly diverse, with communities from many backgrounds living and working in Cardiff, Newport, Swansea and right across the country. Wales also has its own distinct culture and language. Staff who understand culture and identity, including Welsh identity, work more effectively with colleagues and communities, and help Wales live up to its ambition to be a Nation of Sanctuary.
All staff, especially teams serving diverse communities. It's suitable for local authorities, NHS Wales organisations, schools, colleges, universities, housing associations, charities and private-sector employers.
Sessions are interactive and discussion-based, using realistic workplace scenarios rather than lectures. We create a respectful space where people can ask questions honestly. For in-house groups, we adapt examples, length and emphasis to reflect your sector, policies and priorities.
