Why LGBTQ+ Awareness training matters in Wales

Through the LGBTQ+ Action Plan for Wales, the Welsh Government has committed to making Wales a place where LGBTQ+ people are safe, supported and able to be themselves. Workplaces are central to that. People who feel able to be open at work are more likely to stay, contribute fully and progress, which matters for every employer competing for talent in Wales.

  • Aligns with the LGBTQ+ Action Plan for Wales
  • Supports the Public Sector Equality Duty for sexual orientation and gender reassignment
  • Helps Welsh employers attract and retain talent

Who it's for

All staff and managers, particularly teams developing LGBTQ+ inclusion plans. It's suitable for local authorities, NHS Wales organisations, schools, colleges, universities, housing associations, charities and private-sector employers.

How it's delivered

Sessions are interactive and discussion-based, using realistic workplace scenarios rather than lectures. We create a respectful space where people can ask questions honestly. For in-house groups, we adapt examples, length and emphasis to reflect your sector, policies and priorities.
